September-2025

France is making structured B2B e-invoicing mandatory. If you invoice for events, banquets or catering in France, here is exactly what changes, when it applies to you, and how Pxier already handles it for you.
What is changing, and when
Under France's e-invoicing reform, you can no longer send a plain PDF or paper invoice between VAT-registered businesses. Invoices must be issued as a structured, machine-readable electronic invoice and routed through an accredited platform. The rollout is phased:
- 1 September 2026 – mandatory for large enterprises and mid-size enterprises (ETI, Entreprise de Taille Intermédiaire).
- 1 September 2027 – mandatory for all other VAT-registered businesses.
How the e-invoice route works
Instead of emailing a PDF, the supplier converts each invoice into an XML format using an approved standard such as CII and uploads it to an accredited platform (plateforme agréée, or PA). Your PA delivers the invoice to the customer's PA, where the customer receives it. Because the invoice is machine-readable XML, it flows straight into the customer's accounting software with no manual re-keying. Your PA also sends summarized invoice data to the DGFiP (Direction générale des Finances publiques), so the tax authority can track the VAT due.
How Pxier helps
Pxier's event and catering software is built to comply with the French e-invoicing requirements. The data you already enter for each invoice — including deposit invoices, debit notes and credit notes — is used to generate a compliant CII-XML e-invoice and upload it to your accredited platform. For your team it stays simple:
- Select the invoices to send.
- Click Upload — the software generates the CII XML and transmits it to the PA.
- Track the upload status right inside Pxier.
Pxier currently works with ITESoft as the accredited platform. The same e-invoicing capability can be extended to Pxier's spa and restaurant POS software on request.
What to do now
If your business falls under the September 2026 wave, the time to prepare is now — choosing software that already produces compliant e-invoices removes most of the work. If you run events, banquets or catering in France on Pxier, you are covered. Talk to us about turning on e-invoicing for your account.
Frequently asked questions
When does e-invoicing become mandatory in France?
From 1 September 2026 for large and mid-size (ETI) businesses, and from 1 September 2027 for all other VAT-registered businesses.
What format does a French e-invoice use?
The invoice is converted to a machine-readable XML format using an approved standard such as CII, then uploaded to an accredited platform (PA), which delivers it to the customer's PA and reports summarized data to the DGFiP.
How does Pxier handle it?
Pxier generates a compliant CII-XML e-invoice from your event or catering invoice — including deposit invoices, debit notes and credit notes — and uploads it to your PA (currently ITESoft) with one click, with status tracking.
